How To Jack A Tesla Model S or Model X Safely

Tesla Model S Jack Pad Adaptor Tools

Below you will find a quick guide on how to jack a Tesla Model S or Model X safely. EV Accessories Ltd manufactures Model S and Model X jack pads to assist with the safe jacking of these Tesla vehicles without damaging the battery pack.

Where is the Safe Jacking Point?

Both the Tesla Model X and Model S have 4 jacking points located under the vehicle (see below). These are the safe locations to lift with a hydraulic jack or two post lift. They are small and ofter narrower than most Jack saddle pads. The risk of damaging the car battery pack is very high if done incorrectly. You wouldn't jack a normal car via it's petrol tank, so jacking a under £30,000 battery isn't a good idea, and you won’t want to be damaging and nor will your insurance company.

Before You Start Work.

Jacking any vehicle is dangerous and should not be attempted without following the guide in the Tesla user manual. EV Accessories Ltd cannot and will not be held responsible for any damage.  If you’re unsure get professional help or contact Tesla.

  • If you’re unsure at any point stop and check the user manual again, the battery pack under your Tesla is easily damaged if you lift the car incorrectly.
  • Serious injury, or even DEATH can occur if the vehicle is improperly lifted on any jack or two post lift.
  • Always chock the wheels when jacking.
  • NEVER work on the underside of the vehicle until safety stands have been positioned under the body reinforced pads.
  • Never get under a vehicle that solely supported by a jack.
  • Ensure your Jack is suitable for the vehicle weight.
